Positive Mindset and Silversplints! – Splint Hero Daisy
17 September 2025

Splint Hero Story – Daisy
I’m Daisy van Pinxteren, 41 years old, a single mother of two boys, and an EDS expert by experience: living with a chronic condition while maintaining a positive mindset.
Through my community Onzichtbaar sterk (Invisible strong in English), I support fellow patients and raise awareness about pain and hypermobility.
My challenge before Silversplints
My entire body is hypermobile, and my joints often dislocate. Even simple tasks, like pressing a button, caused overextension and severe pain in my fingers and thumbs. For people with HEDS and similar conditions, this is daily reality—something highlighted during Pain Awareness Month.
My first experience with splints
I first tried plastic splints through my occupational therapist. They helped somewhat, but made my hands very sweaty, started to smell, and were uncomfortable. As a result, I remained limited in my daily activities.
Why I chose Silversplints
Silversplints, made of silver, were a huge improvement: comfortable, hygienic, and stylish. They support my joints without irritation and prevent my fingers and thumbs from dislocating—something plastic splints couldn’t do effectively.
My experience since wearing Silversplints
Since wearing Silversplints, I feel much less pain and can perform daily activities comfortably. My fingers and thumbs stay in place, and the constant fear of overextension is gone.
The difference silver makes
Silver is not only beautiful but also prevents irritation and unpleasant odors, problems I experienced with plastic splints. The material contributes to comfort, long-term use, and pain reduction.
Why I recommend Silversplints
For anyone with joint problems or chronic pain, Silversplints are a game-changer. They provide freedom, reduce pain, and make daily routines much easier. Especially during Pain Awareness Month, I want to emphasize the importance of finding solutions that truly help.
Tip for others
Always consult your specialist or orthotist to determine which splints suit your situation best. The right material can make a huge difference for comfort and pain management. Find a trusted partner.
